Our graduates go on to study at the world’s leading universities.
Proof, not promises.
Anyone can describe a school. This is the record instead — the part that is checkable, and the part families actually decide on.

Parents see every mark, session and message, the moment it happens.
From the day you enroll, your family logs in to follow progress in real time. No end-of-term surprises, just a clear, honest view of how your child is doing, and one tap to message a teacher.
Every course your child is taking, in one calm place.
We built a student portal students actually want to open. Everything lives together: today’s live sessions, every assignment and due date, marks the moment they post, course materials, and one tap to message a teacher or book their next session.
Rigour is the method.
The transcript is the proof.
We don’t teach to “good enough.” Nineteen years of one-to-one instruction has produced the same result, year after year: transcripts strong enough to open every door our students aim at.
Real credits. On a real
Ontario transcript.
Every course is taught and evaluated by an Ontario Certified Teacher. The mark is earned on your child’s own work, recorded on an official Ontario transcript, and sent to universities through OUAC — the same channel every Ontario school uses.
I started Petre because I kept watching capable students fall behind a calendar, not a subject. Take the calendar away — one teacher, one student — and almost every child turns out to be capable of far more than a timetable ever let them show.
The one-to-one model was never a growth strategy at Petre — it was the entire premise, and nineteen years on it has not been diluted by a single class of two.

Are the credits real?
Yes. Your child earns credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), recorded on an official Ontario transcript — the same credits, on the same transcript, that they would earn at any Ontario secondary school. Every course is taught and evaluated by an Ontario Certified Teacher, and the mark is earned on your child’s own work.
Can my child take just one course?
Yes — that’s the most common way families use Petre. One course, one-to-one, full OSSD credit that banks toward the diploma wherever your child attends school. You can begin any week of the year: there are no terms and no intake dates, and the course finishes when your child has genuinely mastered the material rather than when a semester runs out. No full-time commitment, and no obligation beyond the course itself.
Will universities recognize the credits?
OSSD credits earned at Petre are recognized by universities and colleges across Canada and internationally. When your child applies through OUAC, their Petre transcript is submitted the same way any Ontario school submits one — there is nothing extra for you to prove.
Who teaches the courses?
Ontario Certified Teachers — the same OCT certification required to teach in Ontario’s schools. Your child works with one dedicated teacher per course, not a rotating roster, and you can message that teacher any time from the family portal.
What does “one-to-one” actually mean?
A live lesson with exactly two people in it: your child and their teacher, on screen, working together. It is not recorded videos, not an AI tutor, and not a group class. The pace, the examples, and the homework all adapt to how your child actually learns.
How do you keep students on track?
Structure plus visibility. Lessons are scheduled and live, so work happens on a rhythm — and everything is recorded in the portals. You see attendance, marks, and teacher notes the moment they happen, so a wobble gets caught in days, not at report cards.
What grades and subjects do you offer?
Grades 9 through 12 across Mathematics, Sciences, English, Social Studies, Business and more, plus Advanced Placement in partnership with One Schoolhouse — with AP exams written right at Petre. Browse the full catalogue →
How do scheduling and pacing work?
There are no fixed terms. Start any day of the year, schedule lessons around your family — evenings and weekends included — and pay by course or by the hour. Students can accelerate a strong subject or slow down where they need more time.
